Registration Reminders
When you send certificates or performance pedigrees back to
the AGA office to update information or for transfers, you can fold those to
fit in smaller envelopes and save you some postage.
If you have multiple herd prefixes in your family, but want
to market cattle under one herd prefix that is allowed. However, when
filling out the registration applications you need to highlight the herd
prefix that needs to be changed or send a note with the work stating that
you want all prefixes to be “XYZ”. You must make that note each time
you register cattle. The information that prefixes need to be changed is not
stored in the database. If you have questions, call the AGA Registration
Department.
DNA Update
All A.I. sires, even those used via A.I. only in your herd,
must be parent verified. Contact the AGA registration department for DNA
kits to parent verify A.I. sires. No A.I.-sired calves can be recorded until
the A.I. sire is parent verified.
When you are attempting to sire verify an animal, the
Registration Department asks that you give them a list of potential sires to
verify to.
